During the renewal of the Rail Baltic business plan, professional associations in the fields can already participate, looking for benefits and opportunities for companies in their field.
The Rail Baltic project will build freight stations in Muuga and the Pärnu region, passenger terminals in Tallinn, the Ülemiste region and the city of Pärnu. Looking to the future, this is an opportunity for both Estonian tourism companies and the manufacturing and logistics sectors.
Due to regular and affordable transport connections,
The Estonian economy has the opportunity to export its industrial production to Central Europe. In addition, the reverse flow of tourists reduces the dependence of our tourism sector entrepreneurs on Finnish and Russian consumers.
Faster to Central Europe.
Railways are second only to air transport in terms of speed and allow you to reach distant destinations in less time than other land transport modes. At the same time, rail traffic is also less dependent on the weather.
Thanks to the construction of the railway, there will be a faster connection to Riga and Vilnius and beyond.
We should look at the bigger picture, as the new connection will provide other opportunities in addition to freight and passenger transport in the region, which also includes Finland, Sweden and the northwestern region of Russia. We need to promote the opportunities opening up in our logistics sector more in nearby markets and ensure that the railway infrastructure being created integrates with existing land and sea connections domestically and with our immediate neighbours.
