Procurements

In September 2016, the parties involved in the Rail Baltica project signed a work-sharing and commitment agreement. This agreement covers the administration and technical set-up of the construction phase of the project.

The cross-border activities in the project, as well as activities with a high degree of commonality, such as studies and design, are the responsibility of the RB Rail AS Joint Undertaking. RB Rail AS will also organise the procurement of construction materials, where joint procurement provides economies of scale.

Procurement of construction activities, both for the railway embankments, bridges-tunnels-roads, depots and stations and for the main construction of the railways, will be carried out by and under the responsibility of the three Baltic States for the activities on their territory.
