Harju I – Ülemiste-Soodevahe (TREV-2 Group)
Road condition: satisfactory. Roads are snowy and salt-soaked.
On Suur-Sõjamäe Crossroads, Nuia Street and Visase Street, road surfaces and traffic control devices (signs) are cleaned as needed.
The following quarries are used for the supply and disposal of materials: Huntaugu I sand quarry, Väo quarry and Väo VIII limestone quarry.
The following route is mainly used for transport: Kiiu-Soodla road (road no. 11105) – Tallinn–Narva highway (road no. 1) – Tallinn ring road (road no. 11) – Juhan Smuuli road (road no. 7841171) – Tallinn–Lagedi road (road no. 11290) – Suur-Sõjamäe bypass (road no. 7841235) – Nuia street (road no. 7841723) – Visase street (road no. 7841650) – Betooni street (road no. 7841162) – Paneeli street (road no. 7841160).
The daily number of tipper semi-trailers serving the facility is approximately 10, with a total daily tonnage of 2500 - 3000 tons.
Harju II – Soodevahe–Kangru (Verston)
Road condition: good. Winter road maintenance is carried out as needed, the site has a brush machine and a vacuum cleaner.
Transport takes place on the following road sections with approximately 20 semi-trailers:
- Tallinn Ring Road (T11, km 0–10,5) – Tallinn–Tartu Highway (Jüri and Assaku area); Kiiu-Soodla Road (11105 km 1–4; T1136 km 0–0,8); Vaida-Urge Road (11202 km 5,2–7)
- About 35 trailers are moving on the Tallinn-Tartu highway at kilometers 11,5–15 and on the Järveküla-Jüri road (11330), at kilometers 5,6–9,6.
Harju III – Kangru–Saku (INF Infra)
Road condition: good. The protective embankment will be transported directly from the quarry to the site via internal roads and public roads will not be used.
Harju IV – Saku–Harju County/Raplamaa border (Merko & GRK)
Road condition: satisfactory. Road maintenance is carried out every working day with plows and graders, removing ice on both the highways and the section of road leading to the Männiku quarry.
From 2.03-6.03, 10 semi-trailers will travel on weekdays on the route Sutlema – Tõdva – Hageri – road no. 15 (Tallinn-Rapla-Türi road) – Hao road – Soo road.
The Männiku quarry will be transported by 10 semi-trailers on the route Soo road – Hao road – Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road – Tallinn ring road – Männiku quarry.
In addition, 8 semi-trailers leave the Männiku quarry every day, moving to the Tallinn Ring Road and from there to road no. 15 (Tallinn-Rapla-Türi road) and then to the Kirdalu–Kiisa road and via the viaduct to the site.
Every working day, 8 semi-trailers move from the Männiku quarry to the Tallinn Ring Road (11) and then on route no. 15 (Tallinn-Rapla-Türi road) – Tõdva-Hageri-Kiisa emergency substation road.
Harju V (TREF Nord)
Road condition: satisfactory. Snow removal, anti-slip measures and road cleaning with a brush are carried out as needed.
Transportation takes place within the site and from the Männiku, Väo and Seli quarries with approximately 10 vehicles per day.
Rapla I – Harju County/Rapla County border – West (Verston)
Road condition: satisfactory. Since 2.03, the brush machine has been on site continuously and additional cleaning will be ordered if necessary.
There will be no bulk transport. On 2.03, five trucks will move from the Männiku quarry to the Harakapesa area.
From 3.03 to 6.03, five trucks will move from the Hagudi quarry to the same site. The transport will take place along road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road).
Rapla II – Loone–Hagudi (Verston)
Road condition: satisfactory. The brush machine is working and the roads are being cleaned as needed.
From 02.03-6.03, material transport will take place at the Kärneri bus stop with five cars and one tractor across road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road).
Rapla III – Hagudi–Alu (Tariston)
Road condition: satisfactory. Roads are snowy and salt-soaked, cleaning will be ordered if necessary.
Materials are transported from the following quarries:
- From the Raja-Suurküla quarry – 8 semi-trailers are used. Transportation takes place along local road no. 20141 (Rapla-Varbola road).
- The topsoil is being transported using 6 tractors. The transport also takes place along local road no. 20141 (Rapla-Varbola road).
- Soil transportation to the Pärnu I site will be carried out using 10 semi-trailers. The transportation will take place on roads no. 20131 (Seli-Kuigi-Alu road) and 20141 (Rapla-Varbola road).
Rapla IV – Alu–Kärpla (Verston)
Road condition: satisfactory. The roads are snowy and salt-soaked. There is one cleaning machine working on both the Orava and Reinu quarry roads.
Transportation takes place:
- From the Reinu quarry, first moving along the Reinu quarry access road (local road 20113), then onto road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road), along local connecting roads (20141 and 20125) and finally reaching road 27 (Rapla–Järvakandi–Kergu road).
- From the Orava quarry, along the Tallinn-Pärnu highway, then onto the Rapla-Järvakandi highway, highway 27 (Rapla–Järvakandi–Kergu) and then onto road number 20149, which leads to the site.
- From the quarry, take small road no. 20120, from where you turn onto road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road) and then onto road 20149, which leads to the site.
Rapla V – Kärpla–Selja (TREV-2 Group)
Road condition: satisfactory. Roads are snowy and salt-soaked.
Transportation takes place from the Akimatsi quarry with approximately 10 trucks per day (2000 – 2500 tons per day) and from the Rüütja quarry with approximately 10 cars (2000 tons per day).
Pärnu I – Selja–Tootsi (Tariston)
Road condition: satisfactory. There is 1 brush truck on site to clean the Kootja and Aherkõnnu intersections.
The road from the county border to the Kergu intersection (T27) is wet with salt and may become dirty due to salt.
Transportation takes place from the Ahekõnnu quarry with approximately 10 semi-trailers per day. The transportation route runs from the Ahekõnnu road (road no. 20254) to the Rapla-Järvakandi-Kergu road (road no. 27), from there along the Kootja road (road no. 2920036) to the Reichenau road (road no. 2920039). The return journey to the quarry is made with an empty car, using the Järvakandi-Lokuta road (20164) and the Aherkõnnu road (20254).
From the middle of the week, transport will be redirected and material will be transported from the Aherkõnnu quarry to the Kõnnu viaduct location in Rapla, specifically to kilometer 35,5 of the Järvakandi–Kergu road (road no. 27).
Transport also takes place from Rapla County to Pärnu County with approximately 10 semi-trailers per day. For this, the route is used from the Seli-Koigi-Alu road (20131) to the Rapla-Varbola road (20141), after which the trucks move to the Rapla bypass and further along the Rapla-Järvakandi-Kergu road (road no. 27) and along the Kootja road (road no. 2920036) to the Reichenau road (road no. 2920039).
Construction companies Verston, Infrastructure, INF Infrastructure, TREV-2 Group, Merko & GRK Oy We use a variety of cleaning measures on a daily basis to ensure the cleanest and safest roads possible throughout the work. We also cooperate with local governments and the Estonian Transport Board in providing operational information.
What we have done and what we can still do:
- more frequent cleaning of roads;
- stricter wheel washing and cleaning procedures during field trips to sites and mines;
- separate response teams in more problematic locations;
- adjusting transport arrangements during sensitive times
