Road conditions 27.07-02.08

Harju I – Ülemiste–Soodevahe (TREV-2 Group)

The condition of the roads is good, sometimes wet from rain, sometimes dry.

Road surfaces are cleaned daily with a brush. Additional maintenance and cleaning work is carried out if necessary to ensure road maintenance. On Suur-Sõjamäe Bypass, Tallinn–Lagedi Road, Nuia Street and Visase Street, the road surface and traffic control devices (traffic signs) are cleaned as needed.

The facility is served by approximately 12 tipper semi-trailers per day, and the daily transport capacity is approximately 2600-3200 tons.
The Huntaugu I sand quarry, the Väo quarry, the Väo VIII limestone quarry, and the Liivalaia VIII sand quarry are used for the supply and utilization of materials.

The following route is mainly used for transport: Kiiu–Soodla road (road no. 11105) – Tallinn–Narva highway (road no. 1) – Tallinn ring road (road no. 11) – Juhan Smuuli road (road no. 7841171) – Tallinn–Lagedi road (road no. 11290) – Suur-Sõjamäe bypass (road no. 7841235) – Nuia street (road no. 7841723) – Visase street (road no. 7841650) – Betooni street (road no. 7841162) – Paneeli street (road no. 7841160) – Tallinn–Saku road (road no. 11340) – Tallinn ring road (road no. 11).

Harju II – Soodevahe–Kangru (Verston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.
In rainy weather, the exits are dirtier, but in general it is possible to keep the road in good condition.
Sweeping tractors and a vacuum truck are in use on the roads.

Transport takes place with approximately 5 semi-trailers on the following road sections:

• Tallinn Ring Road (road no. 11, km 0–10,5)
• Tallinn–Narva highway (road no. 1, km 6–37)
• Kiiu–Soodla road (road no. 11105, km 1–4)

Harju III – Kangru–Saku (INF Infra)

The condition of the roads is good.
National road no. 11159 and the area around the Kangru traffic junction are being swept.
Sand is sprinkled to mitigate bitumen “dilution” and damage to the coating.
Mainly, intra-object transport takes place.
Approximately 5-8 loads of sand are also transported daily from the first part of the Harju III section to the third part of the section (the section on the Saku side).
In addition, the following transports take place:

• On July 27.07-28.07, transportation will take place with 8 semi-trailers on the route Sutlema-Aespa-Tõdva – Viljandi road – Kangru (to the site).
• From 27.07-31.07, transport will take place with 8 semi-trailers on the route Kangru (from the site)-Laagri-Väo quarry.
• On 27-28.07, transports will take place from Männiku XIX sand quarry on the route Road No. 11 – Kangru (to the site). 6 semi-trailers will be used

Harju IV – Saku–Harju County/Raplamaa border (Merko & GRK)

The condition of the roads is good.
A water bucket and brush are used to maintain roads.
Transportation takes place:

• 10 semi-trailers on the route Sutlema–Tõdva–Hageri–Kirdalu–Kiisa road (from the viaduct to the site and the same way back).
• 8 semi-trailers on the route Männiku quarry – road no. 11 – road no. 15 – Kirdalu–Kiisa road (from the viaduct to the site) – Kiisa emergency substation road – Tõdva–Hageri road – road no. 15 – road no. 11 – Männiku quarry (out of the site).

Harju V – Soodevahe traffic interchange (TREF Nord)

The condition of the roads is good.
As needed, roads are cleaned with a brush and traffic signs and signposts are washed.
Transports take place from the Männiku sand quarry, Tammemäe IV sand quarry, and Väo Paas quarry daily with approximately 10 trucks, with a capacity of 1500 tons per day.
In addition, fill soil is transported from the Rail Baltica Ülemiste station areas in a volume of up to 200 tons per day using approximately 3 trucks. 4 dump trucks are used on site.

Rapla I – Harju County/Rapla County border – West (Verston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.
A brush machine with a watering function operates daily on the site. A tanker truck is used to water the gravel roads, and a vacuum truck is ordered if necessary.
Transportation takes place:

• Transports take place from the Mustu gravel quarry to the Kohila area with 18 trucks.
• From Männiku quarry to the Urge area with 2 trucks along road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road).
• 27.-28.07 Reinu Trev 2 quarries with 7 trucks
• 28.07 -31.07 Urge quarry with 7 trucks

Rapla II – Loone–Hagudi (Verston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory, the pothole on the temporary Mälivere bypass has been repaired.
You will be cleaned with brush trucks with a dipping function, which are kept in constant readiness.
Transportation takes place within the facility and

• 27.07-31.07 with two semi-trailers from Reinu quarry to section II
• 27.07-31.07 with six semi-trailers from Reinu quarry to section I

Rapla III – Hagudi–Alu (Tariston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.
If necessary, cleaning of the transport routes will be ordered from the maintenance company based on prior agreement.
Transportation takes place from the Männiku quarry with 2 semi-trailers along roads no. 20113 and 20131 and the Tallinn–Rapla–Türi highway (road no. 15) to the Alu viaduct.
From Hertu quarry with 5 semi-trailers along road no. 20141.

Rapla IV – Alu–Kärpla (Verston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.
A water-brush truck is used on the Reinu quarry road if necessary. If necessary, a water-brush truck is also used on the Mainer Sillaotsa, Sokkel Sonni and Rüütja quarry roads.
Transportation takes place:

• INF Reinu quarry will be transported in a volume of 20,000 tons (approx. 10 cars) on route 20113 – road no. 15 – 20141 – 20125 – Rapla–Järvakandi–Kergu road (road no. 27).
• If necessary, transportation from the Estonian Limestone Lubja quarry will be carried out along the Rapla–Järvakandi–Kergu road (road no. 27).
• A transport of 7000 tons from the Maineri Sillaotsa quarry will take place on route 20120 – road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road) – 20149 – road no. 27 (Rapla–Järvakandi–Kergu road) – 20125 (with approximately 20 cars).
• From the Sokkel Sonni quarry, the transport will be carried out by 14 cars on the route: road no. 20145 – road no. 15 (Tallinn–Rapla–Türi road) – road no. 20149 – road no. 29210021 – 29201169 – 2923378

Rapla V – Kärpla–Selja (TREV-2 Group)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.
If necessary, a brush truck is used to clean the roads.
Transportation takes place:

• From the Ahekõnnu quarry with 7 semi-trailers.
• From the lime quarry with 9 semi-trailers.
• 9 semi-trailers from the quarries.
• On 30.07, 20 semi-trailers of cement-treated material will be transported from Männik.

Pärnu I – Selja–Tootsi (Tariston)

The condition of the roads is good.
The roads are being cleaned with water-brush trucks. Water is used to control dust, and salt is also used near residential buildings on Ahekõnnu Road.
Construction work continues on road no. 20254 between main road no. 27 (Rapla–Järvakandi–Kergu road) and Ahekõnnu quarry. Tariston is improving road safety and building local extensions.
Gravel is being transported from the Ahekõnnu gravel quarry to the construction site along the main road no. 27 and the Kootja and Reichenau forest roads. The estimated transport volume is 12000 tons and 8-10 dump semi-trailers will be used.

Construction companies TREF Nord, Verston, Infrastructure, INF Infrastructure, TREV-2 Group, Merko & GRK Oy We use a variety of cleaning measures on a daily basis to ensure the cleanest and safest roads possible throughout the work. We also cooperate with local governments and the Estonian Transport Board in providing operational information.

What we have done and what we can still do:

• more frequent cleaning of roads;
• stricter wheel washing and cleaning procedures during field trips to sites and mines;
• separate response teams in more problematic locations;
• adjusting transport arrangements during sensitive times
