In recent weeks, many residents and drivers who travel daily on state and municipal roads used for soil transport for the Rail Baltica railway development have noticed that the roads are muddier than usual due to large-scale construction work, changeable weather, and snowfall.

We understand that this causes inconvenience — it dirties cars and makes driving conditions more difficult.  Construction companiesVerston,Tariston,INF Infra,TREV-2 Grupp,Merko &GRK usea variety of cleaning measures on a daily basis to ensure that roads are as clean and safe as possible throughout the entire scope of work. We also cooperate with local governments and the Transport Authority in communicating operational information.

What we have done and what we can still do:

  • more frequent cleaning of roads;
  • stricter wheel washing and cleaning procedures for site and mine tours;
  • separate response teams in more problematic locations;
  • adapting transport arrangements at sensitive times

Harju II – Soodevahe–Kangru (Verston)

  • You are cleaned daily. Three brush machines, two vacuum cleaners, and a tire washer are used.
  • Three times a week, signs and curbs are washed, and in the evenings, roads are deep cleaned.
  • Manual pressure washing of critical building elements if necessary.
  • The condition of the roads is satisfactory, with problems occurring mainly on the exits from quarries.

Harju III - Kangru-Saku (INF Infra)

  • Two brush machines are ready for use.
  • The transport routes around the facility are monitored daily, and additional checks are carried out at the end of each working day.
  • The weekly transport volume from the quarry is very low, approximately 750 tons. INF Infra transports material from the EMG quarry; EMG clears the road daily up to the Hagudi–Kodila viaduct.
  • Road conditions: satisfactory

Harju IV - Saku-Harjumaa/Raplamaa border (Merko & GRK)

  • Until November 28, washing of signs was not necessary; the need will be assessed at the beginning of the new week.
  • The brush machine worked:
    • On the Tõdva–Hageri road
    • On the way to the Kiisa emergency station
    • At the intersection of Viljandi Road and Hao Road
    • On the way to the bog
    • In the Saku–Tõdva viaduct area
  • Exit from the site is via a road built on crushed stone; if the crushed stone becomes dirty, it is replaced.
  • Road conditions: good.

Rapla I - Harjumaa/Raplamaa border-Loone (Verston)

  • Two brushes were missing from the cleaning equipment.
  • A total of approximately 31 vehicles per day carried out the transports during the week. (Mustus, Reinus, and Urges)
  • Road conditions: satisfactory.

Rapla II - Loone-Hagudi (Verston)

  • Two brush machines are used for cleaning.
  • The signposts are cleaned every evening.
  • Road conditions: satisfactory.

Rapla III - Hagudi-Alu (Tariston)

  • On 28.11.25, three semi-trailers of soil material were transported from the Hagudi quarry using transport route no. 20141.
  • Road conditions: satisfactory.

Rapla IV - Alu-Kärpla (Verston)

  • There are six different cleaning machines at work:
    1. Pärnu Road – Orava Quarries
    2. T15 – Purila quarry
    3. 20113 and T15 – Reinu quarry
    4. 20125 and T28 – Rapla station (object office) zone
    5. T27 – Juula viaduct and Raikküla zone
    6. T27 – Knight's career
  • Monitoring would be carried out at least three times a week and information would be exchanged promptly.
  • There were a few potholes on State Road 20113, and the road shoulders need filling. Solutions are being sought in cooperation, as vehicles from several companies serve the same quarry.
  • Road conditions: satisfactory.

Rapla V – Kärpla–Selja (TREV-2 Group)

  • Two brush machines are in operation (on the road leading out of the Reinu quarry and on roads around Järvakandi).
  • Road conditions: satisfactory.

Pärnu I – Selja–Tootsi (Tariston)

  • Deliveries did not take place on November 24-28 and were postponed to week 49 (December 1-5).
  • Road conditions: good.
