In recent weeks, many residents and drivers whose daily journey takes them on national and municipal roads used for earthworks for the Rail Baltica railway development have noticed that the roads are muddier than usual due to large-scale construction work, changeable weather and snowfall.

We understand that this causes inconvenience — it stains cars and makes driving conditions more difficult. Construction companies Verston, Infrastructure, INF Infrastructure, TREV-2 Group, Merko & GRK Oy We use a variety of cleaning measures on a daily basis to ensure the cleanest and safest roads possible throughout the work. We also cooperate with local governments and the Estonian Transport Board in providing operational information.

What we have done and what we can still do:

  • more frequent cleaning of roads;
  • stricter wheel washing and cleaning procedures during field trips to sites and mines;
  • separate response teams in more problematic locations;
  • adjusting transport arrangements during sensitive times

Harju II – Soodevahe–Kangru (Verston)

  • You will be cleaned daily. There are three brush machines, two vacuum cleaners and a tire washer in use.
  • Signs and barriers are washed three times a week, and roads are deep-washed in the evenings.
  • Manual pressure washing of critical fronts if necessary.
  • The condition of the roads is satisfactory., problems occur more often on field trips to quarries.

Harju III – Kangru–Saku (INF Infra)

  • Two brush machines are ready.
  • Traffic around the facility is monitored daily and additional checks are carried out at the end of each working day.
  • The weekly transport volume from the quarry is very low, around 750 tonnes. INF Infra transports material from the EMG quarry; EMG sweeps the road up to the Hagudi–Kodila viaduct daily.
  • Road condition: satisfactory

Harju IV – Saku–Harju County/Raplamaa border (Merko & GRK)

  • Until November 28.11, badge washing was not necessary; the need will be assessed at the beginning of the new week.
  • The brush machine worked:
    • On the Tõdva–Hageri road
    • On the way to Kiisa emergency station
    • At the intersection of Viljandi Road and Hao Road
    • On the way to the swamp
    • In the area of ​​the Saku–Tõdva viaduct
  • Exit from the site is via a gravel road; the gravel will be replaced if it becomes dirty.
  • Road condition: good.

Rapla I – Harju County/Rapla County border – West (Verston)

  • There were two brushes out of the cleaning equipment.
  • During the week, a total of about 31 cars per day carried out the transport. (Mustus, Reinus and Urges)
  • Road condition: satisfactory.

Rapla II – Loone–Hagudi (Verston)

  • Two brush machines are used for cleaning.
  • The signposts are cleaned every evening.
  • Road condition: satisfactory.

Rapla III – Hagudi–Alu (Tariston)

  • On 28.11.25, three semi-trailers transported embankment material from the Hagudi quarry and used road no. 20141.
  • Road condition: satisfactory.

Rapla IV – Alu–Kärpla (Verston)

  • There are six different cleaning machines at work:
    1. Pärnu road – Orava quarries
    2. T15 – Purila quarry
    3. 20113 and T15 – Rein's career
    4. 20125 and T28 – Rapla station (site office) zone
    5. T27 – Juula viaduct and Raikküla zone
    6. T27 – Knight's Career
  • Supervision would be carried out at least three times a week and information would be exchanged promptly.
  • There were a few potholes on State Road 20113 and the roadbeds needed filling. Solutions are being sought in cooperation, as trucks from several companies serve the same quarry.
  • Road condition: satisfactory.

Rapla V – Kärpla–Selja (TREV-2 Group)

  • Two brush machines are operating (on the road leading out of the Reinu quarry and on the roads around Järvakandi).
  • Road condition: satisfactory.

Pärnu I – Selja–Tootsi (Tariston)

  • There were no shipments from 24.-28.11 and they were postponed to week 49 (1.12-5.12)
  • Road condition: good.
