Road conditions 8.06 – 14.06

Harju I – Ülemiste–Soodevahe (TREV-2 Group)

The condition of the roads is good, the roads are dry.

Road surfaces are cleaned daily with a brush. Additional maintenance and cleaning work is carried out if necessary to ensure road maintenance. On Suur-Sõjamäe Bypass, Tallinn–Lagedi Road, Nuia Street and Visase Street, the road surface and traffic control devices (traffic signs) are cleaned as needed.

A visual assessment of the road surface reveals longitudinal, joint and transverse cracks in the road surface, as well as occasional crumbling. In addition, there are a few smaller potholes.

The facility is served by approximately 9 tipper semi-trailers per day, and the total daily transport capacity is 3000–3500 tons.

The following route is mainly used for transport: Kiiu–Soodla road (road no. 11105) – Tallinn–Narva highway (road no. 1) – Tallinn ring road (road no. 11) – Juhan Smuuli road (road no. 7841171) – Tallinn–Lagedi road (road no. 11290) – Suur-Sõjamäe bypass (road no. 7841235) – Nuia street (road no. 7841723) – Visase street (road no. 7841650) – Betooni street (road no. 7841162) – Paneeli street (road no. 7841160) – Tallinn–Saku road (road no. 11340) – Tallinn ring road (road no. 11).

Harju II – Soodevahe–Kangru (Verston)

The condition of the roads is good.

A brush tractor, a vacuum truck and pressure washing are used on the roads. If necessary, a tire washer is used during longer wet periods. At other times, continuous dust control and washing of road signs and barriers are carried out.

Transport takes place with approximately 8 semi-trailers on the following road sections:

• Tallinn Ring Road (road no. 11, km 0–10,5)
• Tallinn–Narva highway (road no. 1, km 6–37)
• Kiiu–Soodla road (road no. 11105, km 1–4)
• Tallinn–Tartu highway (road no. 2, km 11,5–26)
• Road No. 1136 (km 0–0,8)

In addition, approximately 30 semi-trailers are moving in the following sections:

• Tallinn–Tartu highway (road no. 2, km 11,5–15,0)
• Järveküla–Jüri road (road no. 11330, km 5,6–9,5)

Harju III – Kangru–Saku (INF Infra)

The condition of the roads is good.

National road no. 11159 and the area around the Kangru traffic junction are being swept.

Transportation takes place:

• During the period 08.06–09.06, material will be transported from the Väo quarry to the site via the Tallinn Ring Road by 10 semi-trailers per day, and during the period 10.06–11.06 by 5 semi-trailers per day.
• During the period 08.06–11.06, material will be transported from the site via the Väo quarry towards Laagri by 6 semi-trailers per day.
• During the period 08.06–11.06, material will be transported from the Reinu limestone quarry to the site via Viljandi Road with 10 semi-trailers per day.
• During the period 09.06–11.06, material will be transported from the Männiku XIX sand quarry along road no. 11 to the site by 6 semi-trailers per day.
• During the period 08.06, material will be transported from the Reinu limestone quarry to the site via Viljandi Highway with 3 semi-trailers and during the period 11.06–12.06 with 5 semi-trailers per day.
• During the period 08.06–09.06, material will be transported from the Männiku XIX sand quarry along road no. 11 to the site by 2 semi-trailers per day.
• During the period 08.06–12.06, material will be transported from the site along road no. 11 towards Koppelmaa by 10 semi-trailers per day.

Harju IV – Saku–Harju County/Raplamaa border (Merko & GRK)

The condition of the roads is good. A water hose and brush are used to maintain the roads.

Transportation takes place:

• 10 semi-trailers on the route Sutlema–Tõdva–Hageri–Kirdalu–Kiisa road (from the viaduct to the site and the same way back)
• 6 semi-trailers on the route Männiku quarry – road no. 11 – road no. 15 – Tõdva–Hageri–Kiisa emergency substation road

Harju V – Soodevahe traffic interchange (TREF Nord)

The condition of the roads is good.

As needed, roads are cleaned with a brush and traffic signs and signposts are washed.

Transport takes place within the site. In addition, fill soil is transported from the Rail Baltica Ülemiste station areas in a volume of up to 200 tons per day with approximately 4 trucks. 4 dump trucks are used within the site.

Rapla I – Harju County/Rapla County border – West (Verston)

The condition of the roads is good.

A brush machine with a watering function operates daily on the site. A tanker truck is used to water the gravel roads, and a vacuum truck is ordered if necessary.

Transportation takes place:

• During the period 08.06, 10.06 and 12.06, material will be transported from the Reinu quarry by 1 car per day.
• During the period 08.06–12.06, material will be transported from the Männiku quarry by 10 cars per day.
• During the period 09.06–12.06, material will be transported from the Urge quarry by 7 cars per day.

Rapla II – Loone–Hagudi (Verston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.

You will be cleaned with brush trucks that are kept on constant alert.

Transportation takes place:

• During the period 08.06–19.06, transports between the Rapla I and Rapla II sites will be carried out with 5 semi-trailers.
• During the period 08.06–19.06, transports will take place from the Talter quarry to the Rapla I site with 2 semi-trailers.
• During the period 08.06–19.06, transports will take place from the Purila quarry to the Rapla I site with 2 semi-trailers.

Rapla III – Hagudi–Alu (Tariston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.

If necessary, cleaning of the transport routes will be ordered from the maintenance company based on prior agreement.

Transportation takes place:

• From the Männiku quarry with 6 semi-trailers along roads no. 20113 and 20131 and the Tallinn–Rapla–Türi highway (road no. 15) to the Seli–Koigi–Alu viaduct.
• From the Risu Suurküla quarry with 8 semi-trailers along road no. 20141.

Rapla IV – Alu–Kärpla (Verston)

The condition of the roads is satisfactory.

A water-brush truck is used on the Reinu quarry road if necessary. A water-brush tractor operates on the Orava quarry road. A water-brush truck is also used on the Rüütja quarry road if necessary.

Transportation takes place:

• INF Reinu quarry will be transported in a volume of 20,000 tons (approx. 30 cars) on route 20113 – T15 – 20141 – 20125 – T27
• Merko/TREV-2 will be transported from the Orava quarry in a volume of 17,000 tons (approximately 10 cars) on the route T4 – T28 – T27
• Estonian Crushed Stone from the Lubja quarry will be transported in a volume of 150 tons along T27 if necessary.
• The Rüütja quarry will be exported in a volume of 10,000 tons (approximately 20 cars) along the T27.

Rapla V – Kärpla–Selja (TREV-2 Group)

The condition of the roads is good.

If necessary, a brush truck is used to clean the roads.

Transportation takes place:

• From Ahekõnnu quarry with approximately 4 semi-trailers
• From the Akimatsi quarry with approximately 10 semi-trailers
• From the Rüütja quarry with approximately 3 semi-trailers
• From Reinu quarry with approximately 22 semi-trailers

Pärnu I – Selja–Tootsi (Tariston)

The condition of the roads is good.

The roads are being cleaned with water-brush trucks. Water is used to control dust, and salt is also used near residential buildings on Ahekõnnu Road.

Transportation takes place:

• From the Ahekõnnu gravel quarry (F15, F5), estimated transport volume 8000 tons, with 7 dump semi-trailers.
• From the Sohlu gravel quarry (F15, F5), estimated transport volume 15,000 tons, with 3 salt dumpers, 4 tractors with soil transport trailers and 4 on-site dumpers.
• From the Ahekõnnu gravel quarry (TM90, TM105), estimated transport volume 8000 tons, with 7 dump semi-trailers.

We also cooperate with local governments and the Estonian Transport Board in providing operational information.

What we have done and what we can still do:

• more frequent cleaning of roads;
• stricter wheel washing and cleaning procedures during field trips to sites and mines;
• separate response teams in more problematic locations;
• adjusting transport arrangements during sensitive times
