In Pärnu County, preparatory work for the future Rail Baltica railway corridor has begun on the former Pärnu–Mõisaküla railway embankment, where deforestation will be carried out on an approximately 3,5-kilometer section from Paide Road to Silla Village. The work will be carried out only in the area designated for the construction of the railway line and no interference will be made with the protected forest massif.
This means temporary changes to traffic for users of the health trails. As the machines are working in the immediate vicinity of the Reiu–Raeküla health trails, people are asked to avoid moving on the railway embankment and keep a safe distance from the work area.
The transportation of cut material will also temporarily affect access to the health trails parking lot: from December 8 to 21, part of the parking lot will be used as a temporary wood storage area, which may result in a shortage of parking spaces. In this case, it is recommended to leave vehicles in the Lätte tee parking area. (Figure attached.)
